The 23-year-old born-and-bred Beechworth resident and her photographer partner Jake Lancaster, 27, have seen their dreams of overseas adventures dashed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

But while their big plans have been grounded for now, another "tiny" venture appears to be hitting the right note in the community.

Earlier in the year, the pair opened TINY of Beechworth, a small cafe serving coffee, other beverages and "relatable" food including jaffles, gourmet hot dogs and waffles.

"We set up the space with one communal table with the vision to encourage a sense of shared community where people could eat together or read the paper with a coffee," Liv explained.

"Two weeks after our March 2 opening we went straight into COVID-19 and had to close to restructure; we came up with a coffee window for take-aways, which was less than ideal.

"Then the next wave came through and we noticed a lot of locals staying home and even our take-away business dropped significantly."

Inspired by the global success of Uber Eats-style delivery services in major cities, the resourceful pair decided to re-brand their business into something similar - albeit on a smaller scale.

So a week ago, Liv sat down and created a new website and TINY EATS was up and running.

With online ordering, curb-side pick-up and delivery to a five-kilometre radius, the initiative is proving popular with the town's residents, according to Liv.

"A lot of younger families are moving to Beechworth from the cities and they are really familiar with the Uber Eats concept," she said.

"The community has embraced it well - I think the convenience factor is ticking a few boxes and we have been busy with deliveries so far."

Liv, the daughter of B2B suicide prevention walk founder Lisa Cartledge, jokes that her mum has certainly been enjoying the perks of the new service.

"She gets her deliveries free, of course," Liv laughed.

Liv and Jake are enjoying the face-to-face contact of the delivery service (from a socially safe distance) as they miss the close-knit connections of the music scene.

"(COVID-19) has affected the music industry hugely," Liv said.

"We have mates who rely on income from their music who are really struggling, and we both miss that connection with people."

The husky soul-filled tones of this talented singer joined the line-up at this year's Virtual Albury-Wodonga Winter Solstice.

Liv and her father Sean used to perform regularly together around the North East however in 2014 Sean lost his life to suicide and the family have since become brave advocates for suicide prevention and awareness.
