MItchell has joined coach Jarryd Hatton at the Roos as they attempt to make a successful transition from the district competition.
"He will be a massive asset," club president Paul Lavis said.
"He has a huge amount of playing experience and knowledge."
Mitchell has played first grade for Sydney Cricket Club in the NSW Premier Competition as well as spending time with Australian National University in the ACT Premier Competition.
He has also represented the NSW Country Indigenous side.
Mitchell is also more than capable with the bat and is set to be handy in the middle-order.
Corowa started training several weeks ago under Hatton.
Meanwhile, Corowa's new clubrooms at Ball Park are nearing completion.
