The B-double refrigerated milk tanker was travelling north on Freyers Road, near Corowa, when it was reported to have left the road at about 10.15pm and slid into a table drain.
As a result, the truck spilled 12,000 of its 48,000 litres of milk.

The 63-year-old man driving the truck wasn't injured in the crash.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Stewart Alexander said his crew worked with NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Environment Protection Authority to render it safe, continuing the clean-up into Saturday afternoon.
"Spilt milk in large quantities presents as a biohazard because it depletes the oxygen in waterways and is harmful to aquatic and other life forms," he said.
Murray River Police District officers attended the scene and commenced inquiries, issuing a vehicle defect notice for the truck and its two trailers.
