Stablemates Funky Farm, Saint Henry and Nevada Dane are well fancied in early markets after some solid recent form.
Funky Farm made good late ground at his most recent start at Wagga when runner-up and steps-up in distance in the $22,000 Benchmark 58 Hcp, (1600m).
"It's his first time over a mile but he thrives in the wet and gets the conditions to suit," Wellington said.
"The slight query is he seems to prefer Wagga more than his home track.
"But he will push forward and hopefully be able to dictate the race in front and give a good kick in the straight.
"The horse is well, his work has been strong and I expect him to be fighting out the finish."

Stablemate Saint Henry is set to start favourite in the $22,000 Maiden Plate, (1600m).
Saint Henry was nabbed late last start at Wagga after he looked to have an unassailable lead at the final furlong.
"He is just starting to learn what racing is all about," he said.
"He is by Zariz so will appreciate the rain affected track as well."
Wellington said he decided to stretch Nevada Dane out over 1200m at Albury on the advice of regular track rider Nick Souquet.
"We have been looking to get him out over a bit more distance for quite a while now," he said.
"But there has been a lack of suitable races. We will ride him a bit quieter and see if he can get home hard."
