Improve your herd: There will be several new sires including Rennylea L519, Lawsons Sure fire M618 and several home bred sires at this year's bull sale at The Glen.

The Glen's 50th bull sale at Glenview, Shelley Road, Walwa, on Friday September 18 will once again provide a range of bloodlines to enhance herd profitability.

The sale draft reflects The Gen's focus on carcase weight and merit. Almost half of the bulls are in the top 20 per cent of the Angus breed for carcase weight, and one third is in the top 20 per cent for marbling. These traits will satisfy breeding programs with fertility and production traits as their first priority but are also looking for growth, carcase weight and beef quality.

The bulls on offer display optimum frame and growth and are in the frame score range of 6 to 7.5 which makes them suitable for both grass finishing and for supplying cattle to the feedlot industry.

One third of the catalogue is below average for birthweight, providing a range of genetics suitable for mating to heifers, while maintaining adequate frame, growth and carcase weight.

Inspect the sale bulls anytime by appointment with Mike Gadd on 0427 373 347 or Ian Peake on 0448 244 050.

An open day is scheduled for Friday August 28. The bulls will be penned for inspection from 9am to 4pm.

Covid-19 protocols will be followed at the sale venue. Vendors, Mike and Joy will be making every effort to ensure visitors safety and comfort, and buyers are welcome to attend on sale day. Go to www.theglenpastoral.com.au for the catalogue and video of the sale bulls.
