Ethan Weidemann and Connor Willis played their best matches for the club while Michael Driscoll starred in defence against the big-bodied Crow forwards.

Recruits Ed Perryman and Jack Driscoll also stood up on loan from Collingullie Glenfield Park and TRYC.

"This sort of football is going to be good for them all."

In a see-sawing contest, Leeton-Whitton had the better of the opening quarter with Osborne kicking its opening goal early in the second term through Kodie O'Malley.

With Lucas Meline dominating for Leeton-Whitton, the Crows played their best football of the match in the third quarter with Nathan Ryan's miraculous soccer goal giving them a huge lift.

Jack Driscoll put Osborne back in the contest just before three-quarter-time with a clever banana goal to cut the deficit to six points.

Leeton-Whitton's Bailey Wood kicked his third early in the last before Mackie snapped truly to ensure the final 15 minutes were a dour slog.

Mackie, who was returning after a two-match break from a hamstring injury, spent the entire match inside 50-metres.

"We focused on our attitude and I thought the want was there today," Mackie said.

"It was a good old honest game of football.

"We dropped off at certain stages and wavered a bit but to our credit we didn't fall away and I thought we responded each time."

Perryman thrived on a back-flank, Connor Galvin was dangerous through the midfield and Guy Ward had his moments in attack.

Former Lavington star Jono Spina again missed the clash for Leeton-Whitton due to a hamstring injury.

"It was always going to be hard conditions and as soon as you get hail coming in sideways, it makes it tough," Leeton-Whitton coach Daniel Muir said.
