More than 500 tickets were pre-sold before the Dean Street doors were unlocked and movie-lovers north of the Border were welcomed back into Regent Cinema's Albury-Wodonga.
Manager Kelly Davis said it won't be long until Wodonga people can enjoy the new renovations as well.
"We are so glad to just have people back in the cinemas," she told The Border Mail.

Gold Class tickets to see new release Tenet were sold out for the first weekend while showings of retro movies including Back To The Future and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days were also popular.
