Fall Creek's mountain bike park will soon stretch for more than 50 kilometres after the resort management body received a $500,000 grant.

Falls Creek Resort Management chief executive Stuart Smythe said the regional infrastructure grant was for the park's stage five development, which would add a further 11 kilometres to the currently 40km of trails.

He said the park was designed to appeal to a wide range of riders from beginners to experts.
The alpine region has suffered a devastating year with bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacting businesses, with little to no tourism in the area since January 2020.
It's hoped once completed the extended mountain bike park would bring immediate benefits to the community through increased visitation from November to April.
Chair of the Falls Creek Board, Jo Shannon thanked the Victorian government.
"Their support as we recover from the bushfires is imperative and assists us greatly in implementing the board's strategy and increasing year-round visitation and tourism to resort and surround North East region," she said.
Falls Creek Resort and the Alpine National Park is closed to visitors during the current restrictions level's in Victoria.
