Murray was told on Sunday night he would have the operation the next day, but was sent home twice on Monday.
A family member told The Border Mail that the youngster was at home resting when not at the hospital.
Murray was then moved to Abury for the surgery, although it's not clear at this stage why he was shifted the 130kms.
