HotHouse Theatre general manager Michael Huxley said though they were disappointed to abandon the season, there was no other choice given COVID-19 restrictions.
"We've had a really great response from subscribers, who are hanging in there until next year," he said.
Mr Huxley said under present guidelines for indoor venues, they could only seat 32 people in the theatre.
"If you want to see a HotHouse show in 2021, there will be a genuine scarcity of tickets," Mr Huxley said.
