A man will face court on a string of charges including attempted murder after police allege he pointed a rifle at a woman and attempted to fire it during a domestic-related incident in Mount Austin on Thursday.

It follows the culmination of a months-long investigation that begun in July with the creation of Strike Force Belvidere to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Riverina.
As part of the operation, officers stopped a vehicle on Lockhart - The Rock Road south of Wagga at 10.30am on Thursday. Subsequently, a 51-year-old man was arrested.
Police conducted a search of a property on the same road and allegedly located two rifles, a pistol, ammunition, cannabis and a stolen motor vehicle.
A search warrant was then executed at a home in Mount Austin where police allegedly found prohibited weapons, a silencer and a stolen laptop.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.
The man has been taken to Wagga Police Station and charged with 19 offences, including nine counts of supply prohibited drug (small quantity), supply prohibited drug on ongoing basis, shoot at with intent to murder, stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear or physical harm, common assault (domestic), possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised firearm, knowingly facilitating organised car re-birthing, receiving stolen property and possess unregistered prohibited firearm.
He will appear before Wagga Local Court today.
