As the nation emerged from the first lockdown, Gelatina remained shut as winter was already closing in.
With spring in the air now, Gelatina has reopened in Main Street for takeaway service only in line with stage three restrictions in regional Victoria.
Gelatina owner Tina Cozzi said Rutherglen residents had backed the venture, which made authentic gelato and sorbet on the premises.
"I love gelato and I even married an Italian (Steve Cozzi)," she said.
"When we're travelling in Italy, it's a regulation two gelatos a day!"

Having moved from Melbourne, Mrs Cozzi said they settled in the North East to be closer to family.
Melbourne-based daughter Alivia moved to Rutherglen in March to work from home part-time.
For the record, the most popular gelato flavour was salted caramel while children preferred Tim Tam and Cookies.
Gelatina opens Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 8pm.
