A mad scramble is on for towns on the edge of the border region zone to be included in the latest NSW Public Health Order amendment to be announced within 48 hours.
Member for Albury Justin Clancy said Pleasant Hills in his electorate was being put forward to be included in the recently expanded border bubble.
South of the river, Kiewa Valley townships including Mount Beauty and Tawonga were also still being considered for inclusion and member for Murray Valley Tim McCurdy has been lobbying for the inclusion of Whitfield, Cheshunt, Bright, Smoko, Freeburgh and Harrietville.
The towns would all be school holiday drawcards if included.
But, in one instance an exemption to allow five students from Mount Beauty to attend Albury schools has been granted.
It's unclear whether NSW residents will be required to wear face masks when they can freely travel across the border into Victoria where face coverings are still mandatory.
