The raid occurred on Wednesday morning when RSPCA NSW executed a search warrant for a Wagga property alleged to have breached the state breeding codes of practice.

Wagga police attended the incident as a safety precaution, and the case is now under active investigation.

The nature and size of the property, as well as the exact location, are not yet known as investigations continue.

The raids have seen Animal Justice Party MP Emma Hurst speak out on the issue of puppy farming across the state.

"The people of NSW will never accept the industrialised 'factory farming' of puppies for the pet trade - especially while thousands of healthy, loving dogs are being killed in pounds who would make wonderful companion animals," she said.

"I am drafting legislation that will ensure our laws are as effective at protecting dogs here as they are in other states. It's time puppies received the protection they deserve."
