Under Victoria's corrections regulations, an inmate subjected to lockdown may be eligible for "emergency management days" off their sentence for each day in lockdown served.
The County Court this week heard Ian Jackson, 30, who recruited three other men to recover a debt from his victim on April 20 last year, has been approved for this.

He was released on bail on Thursday to go to a rehabilitation centre in Melbourne before being sentenced.
Judge Carolene Gwynn said the rehabilitation will be "hard work" in a "prison-like environment" with other men, having to stick to the rules.
"He's pretty annoyed at himself for sacrificing his relationship with his children and he understands he needs to get runs on the board before he can really resume that relationship, so he should be motivated by that," she said.
