I was extremely proud of the involvement the from regional leaders from our businesses, tourism partners and community groups who were part of the broadcast. The positive vibe of the guests was overwhelming and inspirational for anyone who watched.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In these dark times it was the positive energy we all need to enable us all to fight the good fight and stand up as one. Particularly, it also portrayed the resilience we have all displayed during this time and highlighted the support we provide each other that invariably makes us all stronger together.
I also wish to congratulate The Border Mail and all local media for their support; which has been critical in providing the narrative for us all to effect change to enable better outcomes for our most vulnerable in our region. Congratulations and thanks must also go to Paul Murray and his team for letting us be part of his 'Our Town' series.

Concern at council decision
It is concerning once again, to see the selection process of the Wodonga City Council regarding the acceptance of offers when selling Lot 2 Whytes Road, Bandiana.
As Libby Hall correctly stated, there was no consideration for the residents of Killara when choosing the successful bidder. It is common knowledge of all Councillors, that there have been ongoing issues with noise in the area, resulting in a VCAT hearing in March 2021.
Wodonga is desperately in need of large business inducements into the area, with many businesses looking to close in the Melbourne CBD. Is it not possible to entice these businesses to Wodonga? Small business plays an integral part of Wodonga, but is there a need for 59 factories? If so, why is the Logic Centre not being fully utilised?
Wodonga City Council has given no consideration to the increase in traffic to the area, suggesting that people will walk or ride to work. This is plain negligence on behalf of the council. There are many near-misses on the intersection of the Murray Valley Highway and Whytes Road, on a daily basis. Where is the planning for traffic lights?
Thank you to Crs Hall and Ron Mildren for their representation of the residents and for their continued efforts in trying to keep Wodonga Council open and transparent and fully accountable. We certainly are in need of more Councillors of their ilk.

Understanding is key
The number of Australians living with dementia is close to half a million - a number that is set to double in the next 25 years - with an estimated 1.6 million involved in their care.
In the electorates of Farrer, Riverina, Indi and Nicholls there are an estimated 15,100 people living with dementia, which is expected to increase to 20,800 by 2058.
For this year's Dementia Action Week, 21-27 September, the theme is "Dementia. A little support makes a lot of difference".
A little bit of knowledge can make a lot of difference to understanding what people can do to support someone with dementia.
