German's been appointed for two years.
"I like the players to take the game on, show their flair and back themselves and their team-mates in," he said.
"The game's about players taking risks and if you want to score a goal, you've got to be prepared to take a risk.

"If it doesn't come off, well, OK, you might get hurt, we need to build and grow (at Corowa-Rutherglen) and you don't grow by playing a stock standard ultra defensive game."
German's thoughts are like music to the ears of O and M fans, who will be excited at watching local footy again after this year was cancelled due to COVID-19.
However, if last year is a guide, the Roos have a long way to come after winning only two matches.
"Our goal is that we just improve," he said.
"My first port of call is to try and build that solid base from certainly the local players.
"I'm certainly not going to be talking finals, I'll be talking about improvement."
The former North Melbourne player boasts one of the most impressive coaching resumes the league has ever seen, with assistant roles at AFL outfits Hawthorn, West Coast and Fremantle, along with numerous head coaching roles at State level, including two premierships at Subiaco.
But German admits that doesn't guarantee the club will sign a host of high profile recruits.

"I think people think because I know a lot of people I can recruit them, that's not the case at all, you can't just get players at the drop of a hat," he said.
"The salary caps in Melbourne have changed, the salary cap is dropping in the O and M (to $120,000), the VFL is being restructured so there's going to be a lot of players floating around, so you might pick up one of two of those type of players."
