Rutherglen United Cricket Club has been awarded $100,000 from the Victorian government to replace its 30-year-old nets at Barkley Park with four new enclosed synthetic training pitches.
The grant will also provide the installation of drinking fountains and electricity for a future lighting project.
One net will be open to the community, with the space to be flexible for other Barkley Park user groups.
The club's grants officer AnnMaree Christian has been working diligently towards these improved facilities for the last four years, with smaller grants and fundraising contributing to the end result.

"We were losing kids and players because the facilities and opportunities were better elsewhere," she said.
"It has been an accumulation of many small steps over these years.
"It began with a memorable video made by junior cricketers - Matt Somerville, Archie Thompson, Kurt Schmidt and Jordan McKenzie demonstrating why we needed new facilities.
"They were chasing sheep off the oval and sliding on the sandy nets run up. This was awarded a club grant.
"The boys were playing under-14s then and are now turning 18 and playing seniors, so it has been a long process."
President Grant Steed said the nets will service the community for at least 30 years.
"These new net facilities are important as it will improve our training and enable us to attract others to play and enjoy cricket," he said.
"The club is growing, and it is particularly pleasing to see more females playing also.
"The club would particularly like to thank Sport and Recreation Victoria, Cricket Victoria, Indigo Shire, AnnMaree Christian, Paul Somerville and John Babbs who have made it all happen."
