A leading football identity on the Gold Coast has handed Wodonga's new coach Jordan Taylor stunning praise.

Taylor carries a gutsy reputation and Southport general manager of football Jarrod Field was asked if Taylor is one of the most courageous players he's seen.
"Absolutely, he just goes for the footy's that most blokes won't go for, he's fearless this bloke," he said.

"The number one aspect of his game is his hardness, he's an unbelievably courageous footballer.
"He's a left footer, composed, great leader, he does everything right off the field, he's a super bloke and a terrific clubman, they've got themselves a ripper."

After playing only a handful of games in the SANFL due to injury, Taylor was made part of Southport's leadership group before playing a game in the NEAFL competition.
"That's exactly right (to show his immediate standing at the club), he had an impact straight away just with his training standards, he's had a fantastic two years here," Field praised.
