So naturally this year it was time to give hockey a try.
The Albury youngster was introduced to the sport through friends and has been soaking up his debut season in the Hockey Albury-Wodonga modified eights competition this year.
"It's a bit different to the sports I've played," he said.
"I had friends playing and there was a hockey gala day at my school.
"I wanted to do that so I told my friends and they said I should come along and do it."

Lovatt has so far scored two goals for his side this season and said he's enjoyed making new friends along the way.
His favourite part is uniting each week with his teammates.
"It's a team sport and we can all play together," he said.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions Lovatt has been unable to participate in his other chosen sports this year.
However, he admitted he will most likely be running around on the hockey field again in 2021.
With the competition only being played in Albury this year due to pandemic restrictions and the border closure, the competition has seen a number of new faces join the junior ranks.
Alexis Finch is another youngster trying her hand at the sport this year.
