Chasing the Patties' 8-198, the home team looked shot at 8-159, but a 33-run stand between Brett Davies (17 not out) and Ryan de Vries (16 from 20 balls) handed the Crows' hope.
Davies and number 11 Cameron White still needed seven runs with the latter batting only twice last year.

The Patties' top three in Neil Smith (54 runs) and 150-gamer Matt Crawshaw (43) combined with Mitch O'Brien (40) as White (3-30) and Davies (2-24) bowled tightly.
