An alarm was raised on Sunday morning as the 22-year-old woman became lost in overgrown tracks.
The Geelong resident was halfway through a four day hike and lost track of where she was, and became distressed.
Leading Senior Constable Scott Baldock said the air wing located her about 1.40pm and landed in an area about 30 minutes' walk away.

"The tracks are quite overgrown.
"She was a bit distressed but had all the right gear, and had previous experience of hiking out that way."
Leading Senior Constable Baldock said hikers should be aware that the tracks are overgrown.
"She did the right thing and didn't panic," he said.
