The action will continue on Saturday with 47 teams taking to the grasscourts for summer pennant.
In section one men, Wangaratta's Thunder and Crusher face off with Doug Smith and Michael Rutledge leading their respective line ups.
Club mates Forrest Hill Eagles take on Cats, with Nick Vicary and Rod Wurtz poised to have a role in the outcome.
Brock Dixon and Lachie Graetz will drive Uiver Park in their encounter against Lewis Ahern and Jade Culph's St Patricks/Diggerville.
In the ladies, Thurgoona Jade, with Jackie Rooke and Jo Simpfendorfer at the helm, tackles Wodonga Larrikins who will look to Di Larkin and Sandra Allen.
Dianne Wurtz and Kara Curphy return for Forrest Hill as they take on SPD Red.
