One week after the Vermont Street drive-through clinic moved to no longer requiring appointments, the AWH website was still advising people they needed an appointment and did not list operating hours.

The AWH website was updated on Monday after enquiries from The Border Mail.

The DHHS 'where to get tested' website still shows that testing is by appointment only.

"The new operating times have been updated on the AWH website and social pages, and we have also communicated to our community through a number of other platforms," an AWH spokeswoman said.

"We have also formally sent through a request prior to the changes to our COVID-19 Clinic to the DHHS and are awaiting them to update this information accordingly."

The drive-through clinic operates 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.

"The clinic was operating on a Sunday up until late June," the spokeswoman said.

"On review, due to a marked decrease in the demand for testing, the decision was made to close the service on Sunday.

"If the demand increased there is always a consideration to reopen on a Sunday.

"Should Wodonga residents show COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, we would advise that they visit one of the Albury testing locations on a Sunday.

"Murrumbidgee Local Health District runs a COVID-19 clinic at Lavington Hall which is open from 9am to 3pm on a Sunday."

A person who sought to be tested on a Sunday in August, who had been to a COVID-19 area of concern for care-giving, could not get a test after showing symptoms.

"I was there with other cars and we rang the ED and they said they weren't open Sundays because they can't afford the overtime," he claimed.

"I was trying to do the right thing because I was in a hotspot.

"They're asking everyone to go and get tested, but you can't get tested on a Sunday."

People attended the clinic at the weekend, with the gates being open and sign out, but left after realising it was probably closed.
