Harris was shown the door by the WAFL club less than two weeks after guiding the Tigers into their first grand final appearance since 2012.
Claremont lost the decider to South Fremantle by three points.
Speculation has been rife in Western Australia that Harris fell out with board members after dropping several players during the season.
The 54-year-old took over as coach of Claremont in 2017 and guided it into the finals for the last three years.
Claremont is yet to comment on Harris's axing.
The former West Perth premiership player and coach won 48 of his 71 matches in charge of the club.
Former Wodonga and Murray Bushrangers player Isaac Wallace played in Claremont's reserve grade grand final loss to East Perth.
Meanwhile, former Henty and North Albury player Kade Klemke dominated for Queanbeyan in its 55-point AFL Canberra grand final win over Eastlake Demons last weekend.
