After weeks of speculation, the Collingwood premiership player has confirmed he will be joining the Ovens and Murray club.
Reid played 152 AFL matches and kicked 73 goals.
The key position player's decision is a bitter pill for Wangaratta Rovers after the 31-year-old played junior football for the Hawks.
Although Reid's career has been hampered by a series of soft tissue injuries, he shapes as a huge inclusion for Wangaratta particularly if the Magpies can afford to play him alongside Michael Newton.
Wangaratta has also been strongly linked to retired Collingwood and Melbourne player Lynden Dunn.
