Duo arrested after shots fired near Wodonga Kmart

UPDATE: Police have arrested a man and a woman following a firearms incident in Wodonga this evening.
The man was arrested near a hotel off High Street and had a brown paper bag taped around his hands.
"Investigators have been told a firearm was discharged in a car park off South Street about 7pm," a Victoria Police statement said.

"Fortunately no one was injured. Officers attended the scene and an investigation was commenced.
"Police then attended a hotel in Wodonga and arrested the man and woman.
"Both are believed to be in their 30s and are currently assisting police with their enquires."
EARLIER: Police are investigating after a shot was fired in a popular Wodonga car park.
A statement from Victoria Police said investigators have been told a shot was fired in the vicinity of the Mann Central car park on South Street about 7pm on Wednesday.
"No one was injured and an investigation into the incident is ongoing," a spokesman said.

It is believed two people have been arrested.
Police are interviewing witnesses and the Kmart has been cordoned off to the public.
The car park is also closed.
