Klemke was on the recruiting radar of at least two O&M clubs and one Hume league outfit.
However, Klemke has accepted the co-coaching position at Queanbeyan alongside Adrian Pavese.
"It was very tempting to come back and play," Klemke said.
"I was never going to relocate and would have traveled down each week.
"But once Queanbeyan offered me the co-coaching job it convinced me to stay put."
Klemke was set to coach the Canberra Demons this season in the NEAFL before the season was scrapped.
The 30-year-old returned to former club Queanbeyan who he had previously coached to flags in 2012 and 2015.
The former Murray Bushrangers captain played an instrumental role in the Tigers' flag triumph over Eastlake earlier this month.
He was named in the best after a dashing display across half-back.
"It was a bit of an upset because Eastlake beat us in the second semi-final," he said.
"We were behind at the last change in the preliminary final against Belconnen but kicked 10 goals to one and I think that gave us the confidence to go all-the-way."
