Heavy rain caused flash flooding on Saturday, which damaged some local infrastructure and power cut to areas around the Tumbarumba Caravan Park.
SES volunteers were out earlier in the day, sandbagging to help protect local businesses before the weather arrived.
Water levels are dropping back and expected to move downstream into the Tooma River and Upper Murray on Sunday.
Water, power and mobile coverage was cut on Saturday, but has been since restored to the town.
Extra NSW SES teams from Albury, Wagga and The Rock are on their way to Tumbarumba to assess damage in the town.
