The 38-year-old, who was approached by clubs throughout the Riverina and North-East after missing out on Corowa-Rutherglen's top job, shapes as a lethal inclusion for the Saints as they attempt to remain a force in the Hume league.
"I had a few offers but I just found going to Brock-Burrum was a really easy decision," Cupido said.
"I'm really impressed with the club as it had a clear plan in place in regards to what they wanted to achieve and where I fitted in.
"It seems like a good fit working with Kade (Stevens) and 'Goof' (Matt Seiter) and hopefully we can have some success next season.
"I want to win more silverware before I hang the boots up and I think Brock-Burrum are on the doorstep to achieving that."
I want to win more silverware before I hang the boots up ...
- Damian Cupido
Cupido is no stranger to the Hume league after kicking over 200 goals for Henty in 2018 and 2019 before signing with Corowa-Rutherglen this year.
The footballing journeyman is playing cricket for New City this season and working in the region.
Stevens said Cupido had a huge amount to offer.
"He's keen to coach again and we are providing him with an opportunity next year to progress through working with 'Goof' (Matt Seiter) and myself," Stevens said.
"We met with 'Coups' (Cupido) as a committee and coaching staff together and feel like he'll be great for the community and club.
"He opened up to us and has now convinced us all that he's making this decision as a life choice, to be around good people, over other factors.
"As a club with a strong culture, we jumped at the opportunity."
Despite making the 2019 grand final, Brock-Burrum lacked marking targets with John Spencer topping the goalkicking with 39 majors.
Spencer has since joined Ovens and King league club North Wangaratta.
"'Coups' spent six years in the system and learnt the craft of playing forward from some of the best in the game with Essendon and Brisbane," Stevens said.
"We've identified our forward line as an area we needed to improve.
"If he can pass on half what he knows, plus kick a few himself, we're ahead."
Cupido was sounded out by several clubs including Moyhu and CDHBU before coming to terms with Brock-Burrum at the weekend.
The left-footer said he formed a strong respect for Brock-Burrum while playing for Henty.
"I remember Henty beat Brock-Burrum by a point in 2018 in one of the best country football matches I've played in," he said.
"It was close and physical and both clubs just went at it from start to finish.
"It was an absolute ripper with people still talking about the game."
