The club attracted more than 750 racegoers despite persistent rain falling throughout the day.
"I thought it was a terrific turnout considering the conditions," Hetherton said.
"The feedback from people who made the effort to support the club, was that they really enjoyed the day.
"We were fairly well prepared and made a few changes with extra marquees so people were under cover.
"It was a successful day for the club and patrons understand what is required in public venues in regards to COVID-19 restrictions."

The track also coped well with the downpour after receiving 25mm in less than 24 hours.
"We had a bit of a rain delay during the middle of the meeting and the remaining races had to go back one," he said.
"I walked the track with the stewards and the track held-up well considering the amount of rain we had in a short period.
"It was downgraded from a from a soft 6 to a heavy 9 between races three and four."
Hetherton said it was also pleasing to see North-East trainers support the meeting.
Team Ledger, Heath Maclean, Andrew Dale, Nick Ryan, Stephen Aldridge and Peter Maher all had runners at the meeting.
"It was great to welcome back those North-East trainers and we are grateful for their support of the meeting," he said.
"The Albury trainers had a day out winning five of the seven races which was a terrific effort."
