Charlie Nastasi came through the Western Jets' junior program and played 10 senior games with Williamstown.
He then spent time at Avondale Heights and Spotswood, known as the Woodsmen, where he played alongside fellow Roos' recruit Jason Marks.
"Jason was a big influence and Peter German also coached me at Williamstown, I like the way he goes about it," Nastasi said.
Roos' coach German will joins Marks, Nastasi and ex-Mt Eliza's Kyle Docherty in a new-look outfit.
"I like his (German's) game style and the fact that everyone's on board, he's transparent with it and clear with how he wants us to go about it, I like that a lot," Nastasi said.
"He likes to move the ball and have a crack at the game."
Nastasi is only 170cms but strong at 75kgs and has good pace.

"We'll have Charlie and Damien Wilson as strong-bodied midfielders, Cam Wilson can go through there and Darcy Melksham's probably going to grow into being a strong midfielder when he fills out."
