It was previously flagged in Albury Local Court that negotiations between the defence and prosecution had been productive.
The court heard on Tuesday that these discussions had reached the point where the two accused teenage boys could soon be committed for sentence.

This would avoid the need for a District Court trial.
The boys, then aged 16 and 17, were charged with attempted murder soon after the Swan Street house blaze, which occurred on November 11.
Director of Public Prosecutions representative Jessica Dawson told magistrate Miranda Moody on Tuesday that it was expected any loose ends surrounding the case could be tied-up should the matter be adjourned to November 24.
"I'm advised the parties are in the process of resolving the facts," she said.
"They just need a bit more time.
"They're both (facing) very serious charges."
Defence lawyer for one of the boys, Wagga solicitor Rohan Harrison, told the court, in correspondence provided via Ms Dawson, that his client did not want to appear yesterday via a video link to jail.
The other boy, Ms Moody was told, could not attend because he was at school.
Both boys were excused from attending if legally represented, but will be required to front the next mention of their cases.
Each is charged with attempted murder over allegations related to the girl's injuries.
They are charged also with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, choke person and intend to commit indictable offence, retain with intent to commit an indictable offence, take person in company with intention of committing a serious indictable offence and destroy or damage property with intent to endanger life.
Police said at the time of the fire that the girl suffered stab wounds to her abdomen, back and head, as well as having her liver punctured.
She had just been rescued from the smoke-filled house by firefighters and later had to undergo surgery at Albury hospital.
The boys were arrested in Allawah Street that same day.
