The Melbourne University captain is playing with Albury in CAW, while awaiting the start of Victorian Premier Cricket.
Border Bullets start their season against home outfit Wagga Sloggers in the Regional Bash on November 8.
"I've spoken to James and he's keen to play the rep stuff, so that's great news," Bullets' coach Daryl Tuffey said.
Currently, Victorian-based players can't contest the Wagga match due to COVID-19 restrictions, but CAW is hoping that could change when the NSW Government makes further announcements on Sunday.

"No doubt we will still have a strong squad even if we can't get the Victorian-based players," Tuffey said.
ACT Aces will face Murrumbidgee Rangers in the other Thunder Pool Two match on Sunday week, with the winners to meet that afternoon. The pool winner will contest the finals.
