WODONGA councillor Danny Lowe says "lazy" campaigning is to blame for his poor election showing.

"I don't give myself any chance, it will be a miracle I think if I get back in," Cr Lowe said.
He said he had been lazy by having no billboards and flyers.
"Facebook and social media is never going to be enough and I needed to reach out more," Cr Lowe said.

Fellow incumbent Brian Mitchell also faces a big fight to remain on council and says he is not "holding out too much hope".
He had not analysed why he did not do better but believed there should have been more leeway allowed by the Victorian Electoral Commission to allow councillors to promote their records.
Another current councillor Ron Mildren has also said he does not believe he will be returned.
The remainder of the last council contesting the election, Kat Bennett, Libby Hall and John Watson, are polling in the top five of the 19 candidates.
Wodonga's election result is expected to be decided on Friday, with Towong on Wednesday become the first North East council to have its 2020 poll declared.
