Firefighters were called to the Kailters Road property about 10pm on Sunday.
The incident was brought under control in about 30 minutes and firefighters cleared the scene by 11.30pm.
Two adjoining units also sustained smoke damage.
The cause is under investigation, but appears to be caused by unattended cooking.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Stewart Alexander said a resident managed to get out of the unit without receiving any injuries.

"We're having a close look at it but it would appear to be caused by someone who was cooking.
"It's a timely reminder to make sure you've got working smoke alarms any time of the year and to always call triple zero to report fires and emergencies."
Firefighters managed to prevent the blaze spreading into the two adjoining properties.
The brick units share walls and and a roof with the burnt property.
Black smoke marks could be seen at the front of the damaged home.
Leaving cooking unattended is the leading cause of house fires in NSW.
