Previously under COVID restrictions women giving birth have been able to have their partner or support person with them through childbirth, but only one visitor was allowed for two hours in subsequent days.
The one nominated visitor restriction remains in place but there is no longer a time limit on the visit per day.
Children under the age of 16 are now allowed to visit.
IN OTHER NEWS:
While patients in mental health rehabilitation services, general wards and mental health wards no longer need to nominate a single visitor for their stay.
Patients can have one visitor per day, but that visitor may change day to day.
AWH said they were updating the visitor policy in light of the latest Department of Health and Human Services announcements.
