Magistrate Richard Funston said Michael Sonny Peric's intoxication was clearly disrespectful to the court.
Peric, 45, tried to argue - in a rambling, incoherent fashion - that he wasn't intoxicated but had only had a couple of drinks.

He told the court this week he wanted his charge of breaching an apprehended violence order finalised while also indicating the allegation was false, claiming the complainant had "cracked the sh ... ts" with him.
Mr Funston said he would record a plea of not guilty, adjourning the case to a hearing next Friday.
"If you go anywhere near the complainant in the next week you're going to jail," he warned Peric, who replied: "Thank you sir, you're a good man."
