The coroner is examining the death of a man who died while serving a term for stealing millions of dollars from his employer. Peter John Gretton died in Junee prison in January last year. The 60-year-old was less than eight months in a minimum prison term of two years and three months after taking $3.1 million from his employer, The Jones Group. The company runs the Siesta Hotel, Quality Hotel on Olive, and Wangaratta's Quality Hotel. IN OTHER NEWS: He had taken the money over a 12-year period while working as a bookkeeper. The 60-year-old had suffered from heart issues, hypertension and diabetes. A spokeswoman for the coroner said an inquest would return to the court on December 30. It is listed to run for about 10 minutes. All deaths in custody are investigated by the coroner.
