PREVIOUSLY:
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will visit the North East today.
It will be the Wangaratta-born Mr Andrews' first visit to the region since March when he visited Wangaratta hospital for a funding announcement.
Mr Andrews is due to make an announcement before lunchtime, though the nature of the news is not yet clear.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The Premier has been unable to venture into the region or visit his Wangaratta-based mother since Melbourne was locked down and the 'ring of steel' between the city and regional areas was implemented.
The restrictions eased last week to allow Melburnians to return to regional Victoria.
The visit comes as Victoria records another day with no new COVID-19 cases - marking 19 days since the last case was recorded.
Only three active cases remain.
