Maruma, who was reported for making contact with Belvoir wicketkeeper Nat Sariman while batting at Bunton Park on November 7, had his appeal heard by tribunal member Geoff Romero in Wodonga on Wednesday night.
The Hoppers submitted evidence that the all-rounder was concussed at the time of the incident.
The Zimbabwean first-class player was represented by advocate Dale Paddle.
The incident occurred when Maruma played a lap-sweep against Eagle spinner Zac Simmonds, with the ball also hitting his helmet on the way up as Sariman waited to take the catch.
The umpires alleged the batsman made contact with Sariman, who still held the catch.
Maruma joined North Albury as coach but voluntarily stepped down from the coaching job after the St Patrick's game on October 17.
