Mclean, 28, represented himself during a bail application in Albury Local Court on Friday.
His application was denied by magistrate Richard Funston.
He will return to court on January 19.
EARLIER: A Border man will face court today after being charged over a Jindera service station break-in.
Jack McLean, 28, was extradited from Melbourne to Albury on Wednesday over an outstanding arrest warrant.
It's alleged he targeted the Shell service station on Urana Road in Jindera in the early hours of February 29.
The doors to the property were allegedly jemmied open after a white Mitsubishi van, stolen from Wodonga, reversed up to the property.
McLean allegedly tried to take an ATM from the business without success.
The van was later found dumped on a property on Clynn Ross Court in Jindera.

Police applied to extradite McLean from Victoria after he had matters finalised in the state.
He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter with intent in company to steal, car theft, hinder discovery of evidence, and having a blackened or disguised face with intent to commit indictable offence.
He is due to face court in Albury on Friday.
