Albury council awarded the tender to Precision Skate Parks for $3,401,834.43 to revamp the existing David Street park into a skate park and recreation hub.
Council agreed to reallocate $1.1 million from the Bungambrawatha Creek Outfall Restoration project to pay for the project.
The works will include demolition of the existing skate park, provision of a revised footpath network including new seating areas and associated landscaping, an extensive skate plaza area, two skate bowls with covered shelters, a pump track, an outdoor half-court basketball court and climbing wall and a parkour area.
The new park is expected to be completed by December 2021.
