Border Relay For Life is going off track this year, owing to COVID-19 government regulations. Instead the community is encouraged to gather in smaller groups, while still abiding by state restrictions, at home, work or in the neighbourhood to Relay Your Way. On Saturday the opening ceremony and candlelight Hope Ceremony will be livestreamed to teams, with the major raffle draw and other interactive activities also held throughout the day. Register Relay Your Way teams at cancercouncil.org.au/borderrelay.
GOING SOLO
The Whitlams frontman will bring a fresh repertoire and old favourites when he returns to the border this weekend. Great Southern Nights presents Tim Freedman Solo Tour at SS&A Club Albury. Freedman last played in Albury in June 2018 when The Whitlams packed out the place. This time Freedman will launch The Whitlams' new single Ballad of Bertie Kidd, a six-minute crime caper that describes a blip in the long career of one of Australia's most notorious criminals.
