In a major coup for the defending premier, Armstrong is regarded as the premier forward in the AFL Canberra competition.
The 29-year-old has topped the league's goal kicking for the past two seasons and has played an instrumental role in Ainslie claiming a hatrick of flags from 2017-19.
He also finished runner-up in the Mulrooney medal for the competition's best and fairest last year.
Armstrong said it was a burning desire to play alongside Tigers' 2019 best and fairest Declan O'Rourke that led to his decision to commit to travelling from the nation's capital.
"Osborne has tried to recruit me for a couple of seasons now through Declan who is a good mate of mine," Armstrong said.
"We went to school together in Canberra and have always spoken of playing a season together.
"I was looking for a new challenge and thought I may as well bite the bullet and commit for a season.
"With Osborne being a powerhouse of the competition and the defending premier, it was is an enticing opportunity."

At 195cm and 105kg, Armstrong is a man mountain and alongside Tigers coach Joel Mackie, Kodie O'Malley, Jamie Parr and Connor Galvin is set to form an imposing attack and a nightmare scenario for opposition defences.
Armstrong is no stranger to the Hume league and previously played for Rand-Walbundrie in 2015 but struggled to find the sort of form he has displayed for Ainslie.
"I know a bit about Osborne because I previously played in the league," he said.
"They are a great family club and it's amazing how much success they have had considering there is no town.
"It's a tight-knit community that I'm excited to be joining."
