The Brendon Hearps-trained Vungers claimed his second country cup in as many starts after a dominant win in the $100,000 Wodonga Gold Cup, (1590m) on Friday.

A last-start winner of the Donald Cup by more than three lengths, Vungers demolished his rivals by an even greater margin to score by 4.3-lengths with Zac Spain aboard.
It was an impressive display after the noted frontrunner copped plenty of pressure for the first 400m of the race.
Despite working hard to find the lead, Spain elected to release the brakes at the 600m mark and Vungers quickly established a race winning four length break entering the straight.
The $2.15-favourite never looked like getting run down to hand Spain his second win in the $100,000 feature in the past three years.
Spain also partnered the Logan McGill-trained Gold Fields to victory two years ago.

Top-weight Coming Around ($8) ran on well to nab second and narrowly edge out local hope Quiet Lucky ($71) for trainer Wendy Church.
Hearps said Vungers had gone to another level this preparation after also running fourth in the lucrative $500,000 MCCC Country Final at Flemington two starts back.
"He's no superstar as I keep saying, but he's no slouch either," Hearps said of the seven-year-old.
"Earlier on he looked like being really good until he did a tendon and he's just plodded along since.
"Luckily we've got a water walker and he works on that three times a week and he just loves it.
"But it's great for the owners.
"They have been great owners in the stable for 25 years or so and they're rapt, so it will be another big weekend."
It was Vungers fifth career win from 31-starts and has now won in excess of $300,000 in prizemoney.
The son of Reset has also ran 16 minor placings.
Hearps said he would more than likely head to Flemington for the geldings next start.
The Church-trained Quite Lucky produced the best run of his career when finishing third with Jake Duffy aboard.
The six-year-old was facing a stiff rise in grade after running third in a 0-58 Handicap at Benalla at his most recent start.
The Mitch Beer-trained Sky Call ran an honest race to finish fourth.
The David O'Prey-trained Strome started $4.40 second favourite and finished fifth.
Ridden by in-form hoop Jamie Kah, Strome settled at the tail of the field and made a wide looping run before fading late.
Kah made the trek from Melbourne for two rides and finished third aboard the O'Prey-trained Tori Margeurite.
