The Wagga club were looking to keep their options open after being knocked out in the first week of finals for the second season running.
However Breust didn't wait on their decision and instead elected to link with Group 20 club Leeton.
Leeton coach Hayden Philp played alongside Breust this season and was the catalyst for the move.
Philp is thrilled to have him on board for the club's centenary celebrations and believes he will be a great addition to the club.
"He was looking for something else and a new challenge," Philp said.
"I think he's lost a bit of weight too and is really excited to get into it.
"It has been good and he said it was something different for him."
Philp targeted Breust to add some experience to his halves.
