It will be the first major fixture at the newly-developed $19.6 million venue and the first AFL clash it has hosted since St Kilda took on Sydney in March, 2017.
Albury mayor Kevin Mack said it was a great coup for the community and hopes it will be the first of many major events at the ground which was opened last month.
"When we set out to redevelop the ground we wanted to make it one of the best sporting venues in regional Australia and the decision to host the Tigers and Dogs here is testament to the entire community's vision to create a home of sports that puts our city on the national map," he said.

"This is terrific news for our sports-loving community, and after a difficult year it will be a fantastic boost for the local economy and tourism operators.
"We're very excited to be working with the AFL NSW/ACT and the Richmond Football Club as the home team in bringing this event to the border."
The Bulldogs last took the field at Lavington in March, 2006, against Carlton, while it will be the third time in four years Richmond has played in the region, after clashes against Collingwood and Essendon at Wangaratta's Norm Minns Oval in 2020 and 2018.
Richmond CEO Brendan Gale said the club was thrilled to be able to participate in the first major sporting event at the venue as it looks to further strengthen its ties with the Border and North East.
"The game will be a magnificent spectacle, played at a facility that locals can be truly proud of," he said.
The new ground can hold about 12,000 people, with COVID-safe regulations and ticket arrangements still to be confirmed.
