Trained by Brooke McPherson and driven by younger brother, James, Rusty Crackers proved a class above his rivals winning the $15,000 feature by 14-metres.
Starting the $1.35-favourite, Rusty Crackers atoned for a second placing in the cup last year behind another Border pacer in Carla Clare.
Rusty Crackers is building a formidable record in country cups after also claiming the Wagga and Temora Cups last year.
Winning reinsman James said they would now set their sights on the Goulburn Cup.
"We thought he would win on Friday night and be very hard to beat," McPherson told the Daily Advertiser.
"But the query was he was first-up and hadn't had a trial after a spell of 80 days.
"It was a good effort because on a small track like Leeton it's pretty hard to make ground."
