Police are seeking public assistance after a family dog was shot in Deniliquin over the weekend.

At about 7pm on Sunday the owners of a four-year-old Labrador named Willow, became concerned when they found a wound on the dog's left side.
The dog was taken to the vet and underwent emergency surgery to remove an air rifle pellet.
It remains in a stable condition but has suffered internal injuries from the shooting.
The vet advised police the shot was probably sustained earlier on Sunday, and police attached to the Murray River Police District have been informed.
They are now appealing for information. Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to contact Deniliquin Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
